Okey was admitted to the Nigerian Bar (BL) in 2007. He obtained his Bachelor of Laws degree  (LL.B Hons.) from University of Nigeria, Nsukka in 2006 and holds a Masters degree (LL.M) from Queen Mary, University of London (2010).
